Freelance radio presenter based in the South West of England. I’m also a radio and podcast producer, and occasionally a live DJ.

I also work extensively with Phonic FM, Exeter’s Community Radio Station, as a presenter and producer. I have presented the breakfast show, evening entertainment shows, live outside broadcasts from around Exeter and broadcasting from my home studio during 2020/1. Nowadays I mainly provide behind-the-scenes support, but occasionally pop in to cover the odd programme.

My presentation style is relaxed and authentic. I involve the listener when presenting and aim to make my programmes accessible and engaging to all.

I’m a DJ and “silent disco co-ordinator” at the wonderful The Hall Exeter venue. For all things Hall related you’ll need to contact them directly.

I also DJ events including at Exeter Phoenix’s New Year’s Party, before/between/after bands at Exeter Cavern, and yes, even weddings and birthdays 😮

Events

I’ve put on some fab gigs at Exeter Phoenix to fundraise for Phonic FM. I have no plans to put on any gigs in the near future, but I’m always happy to help out with advice and recommendations if you’re thinking of doing something similar.

In radioland I’m proficient in…

• Myriad playout administration, scheduling and networking
• Dira! suite of applications including playout, highlander and all that jazz
• A range of audio editing applications including Audacity, Adobe Audition, Reaper, Startrack…

I am comfortable doing split links in my broadcasts

I can record stuff for you at home. I have some handheld recorders and can record stuff for you in the outside world too.

Even more things

I’m an Excel whizz and a stats nerd. I know Microsoft Office inside-out. I’m pretty good with WordPress and do a bit of coding when necessary.

I’ve worked in technology, data, education, sales, catering, the public sector, the funeral industry(!) and loads more besides.

I also used to be a ukulele teacher and wear trilby hats. Thankfully we have the ability to move past our mistakes.

tl:dr

I am a freelancer, I do all sorts of audio stuff, I’m quite good at it. And I am relaxed, friendly and easy to work with.
